You're in a cave, there are cave sounds in the background, even collecting staff cound like creature shrieks... let's add some cool/energetic music on top of that.
I mean... the music is nice but it doesn't really fit... especially with echoing sounds in the background.
Other than that- it's pretty nice.

BodoFragins responds:

I enjoy the music, but it's not for everyone. There is an option under Settings in the main menu to mute it, if you like.

Score feature is pointless... It's going to be always 52 since this is the number of cards...
It would make more sense if there would be "cards remaining" feature... but it's still not necessary.

orion1220 responds:

Score is the time it takes so...

It looks nice but it's so poorly executed...
1. Why in the game which use a mouse I can't see the cursor? Is this a bug or something? I can use the other set of buttons but still... it's annoying.
2. Your tutorial in the description is really messy... Don't tell us what we're doing in a 1st point of something that looks like step by step tutorial... which it isn't. It's bunch of information about the game in almost random order.
3. If you're giving us a hint don't try to be smart and call your buttons "action keys" it just makes me go to the controls anyway and in there you don't use this fancy vocabulary. Well, you used "pick up / drop key instead of "interaction key" that's good... but I think this names are self-explanatory...
4. When I bring metal to the anvil I don't use "action key" to "craft once"... I don't craft anything- it's for making the number go up.

This game would really use some visual tutorial or at least step by step turial... so well, here's one.

How to craft anything in this game:
1. Wait a second for ores to appear at the bottom right.
2. Use Z to mine them.
3. Using X pick up and throw 3 balls at the right... thing?
4. Pick up the metal and go with it to the anvil.
5. Use Z to make the number go up.
6. Stop at the number you want (2 or 4) and press Spacebar.

tommyboys0107 responds:

Hello :)
I didn't realize problems of tutorial until I see your comment.
I've changed some parts of the tutorial according to your suggestions.
Thanks for your suggestions!

This is interesting. Can I know why did you choose the Chamorro as the language we're learning? I'm just curious.

It might be good to change pictures of animals once in a while but it should stay in the same style. Actually, all of the animals should be drew in the same style.

KJDesigns responds:

Hi Sorry for the late reply. I chose Chamorro because I actually live on Guam. This is my first game that i made and wanted it to get attention on Gaum. Thank you for the tip I'll maybe update it to keep the images the same :)

The character looks surprisingly good for such a game. It's actually a shame that you want to go full minimalistic with the game. This character could use some some backstory, some adventure with a goal. If you don't want to go full dialogue-based story you can try visual one... of course it's harder.

Also... what instructions did you left? I had no idea blue areas will kill me. You might have stripped too many words.

Music is a bit too loud. Also making us choose at the start if we want to play with SFX or not is kind of strange.

I think it's nice that you've included downloadable version in the description.

Keep up the good work.

anosci responds:

Indeed, the game was designed and nearly finished before I added any art or character details. Any story I added would have to be tacked on, and that's the worst kind of story imo.

The (lack of) cohesion towards a theme might be the weakest part of the game.

As for the blue areas you mentioned: To paraphrase another game, "murder is a form of communication." Lives are cheap and being killed is a very minimal setback in this game, which is why I felt I could strip away the dialog for the blue areas.

Anyway, thanks for the review!

What's the point of this actually?

vladimirdabic responds:

To play and explore + when an update comes up it asks you to update ingame :D

This is quite interesting. Maybe even have some potential but there isn't much right now. Actually there's something wrong because I can't progress more than to Nicanor Parra question.
I'd like to see this concept being used with maybe a little better visuals.

Taringuero responds:

New version v0.5, enjoy the game

I imagine that at least some fully made 2d platformers are less interesting than what you got here in alpha.
I like the water mechanic and the last level(spoiler). It shows that you're trying to add to the game something interesting and probably there's more to come.

Artstyle: fine.
Music: nothing spectacular

But what's with controls? Im guessing this game isn't just for PC but having both PC and I'm guessing console version buttons appear on the screen is a bad choice. I don't know how hard it is to change it for both versions but I'd recommend doing so.

Conclusion: It's really nice but it doesn't necessarily hit my tastes.

aQuadiun responds:

Hi DreamND,

thanks for playing our game and for your feedback!

Controls:
You can play with a gamepad too, this is why it is appears a console button command, bu we agree with you that it was confused, also a bad choice. We will improve it!

Music:
The music and sfx are temporary, they are only to demo. For next version we will put something better.

The game is still in development, so we have a lot of work to be done yet. And we want to finish it by listening your feedback, this is why the game is so incomplete and unpolished. But we hope you like the next version :)

Thanks again for your feedback, we really like it! :D

You've made an endless runner type of game yet you've tried to go against it. I mean, is it just me or "good" endless runners are fast and/or quite stressful. The whole Relax theme is kind of a bad choice.

About the music and sound effects: It's an endless runner, don't throw at me remix of Minecraft's open field theme. Also boosting sounds more like hitting a brake button in an old racing game than accelerating.

About the visuals: The trees in the background look nice but what am I actually? Some 3D block and sphere glued together? C'mon. You can do better than that.

If this is really your first game though it's pretty nice and I'm waiting to see some progress.

BluuToast responds:

Damn thx for feedback and ya it is my first game truth to be told i don't play a lot endless runners no idea i was going against it nature i should do some more research on genre itself it seems. lol minecraft remix man i got roasted and ya trees are 3D blocks and spheres i'm bad artist so i decided to make the game out of all primitives XD.

The game doesn't work most of the time.
Basically free medals. It would be cool if it wouldn't notify you for the same medal again and again.
